Pneumatic seals Pneumatic seals are easily confused for Hydraulic Seals because of the similar u-shape profile. At BMG we have Product Specialists who can assist you with all your pneumatic seal applications. The key differences with pneumatic seals are the capabilities of a faster shaft speed over your slower hydraulic seals. The downside however is the lack of power transfer the pneumatic seals can achieve. Because pneumatic seals are made from a different elastomer, they can also achieve higher temperatures. Some materials used in pneumatic seals applications are Fluorocarbon rubber, Nitrile rubber, Silicone Rubber, EPDM, PTFE, and even Polyurethane. We refer to pneumatic seal as reciprocating seals for cylinder applications which provides linear motion. Common seals in these pneumatic cylinders include statics seals, wiper seals, o-rings, shaft seals, u-cups, piston seals and even backups. We at Bearing Man Group’s Seals division stock a wide variety of pneumatic seals for single and double acting pneumatic cylinders. Pneumatic seals work best between 4-6 bar pressure.
