They are used to help prevent lubricant escape as well as stop harmful contaminants from entering machinery. They are vital components of almost every type of machine in operation. They protect all types of precision-constructed, close-fitting ball, sleeve and roller bearings. Double lip type has an auxiliary lip provided along with the regular sealing lip for additional sealing protection. High Pressure type designed for rotary applications where the operating conditions exceed the capabilities of elastomeric rubber lip seals, where extended seal life is required or where mechanical seals are too costly. Nitrile material provides excellent resistance to petroleumbased oils and fuels, silicone greases, hydraulic fluids,water and alcohols.
