Also known as plain washers, their purpose is to distribute the fastener's load while reducing heat and friction during the tightening process. They can also be used as spacers. Form A: Normal diameter, normal thickness. Olive-Drab produces a heavy olive drab chromate coating on zinc or cadmium plated surfaces. It provides the maximum salt spray and abrasion resistance of any type of chromate dip.
