U bolts are metal bars shaped like the letter �U� and threaded at the end of each arm. The threaded ends are designed to receive securing nuts. They are used to secure leaf springs, ring bolts and shackles. They work by sitting around and clamping an object within the �U� shape and attaching to a surface with the help of the securing nuts.
